Femia
I built a consultancy so I would know what it actually costs to advise a business owner — and to be the one who pays for the project and lives with the result.
Femia came out of the Kissaten work. The first version was a specialty coffee coworking concept for entrepreneurs, content and project work.
I ran the numbers and decided the risk was too high. That is the first thing this project proves about me: I can talk myself out of my own idea.
I kept the name and turned it into a marketing and digital consultancy with a narrower thesis — there is a large, underserved opportunity in helping physical businesses become digitally capable.
This is the part that transfers to every other project on this site.
- Understand the business — what it sells and how it makes money
- Understand why it sells that, and to whom
- Understand the goals, and the ambition behind the goals
- Understand the economic growth they are expecting, in numbers
- Diagnose the actual problem, which is frequently not the requested deliverable
- Design the intervention that fits the problem
- Price it by stage, so they can stop if it is not working
- Explain what return it should reasonably produce — and what it will not
- Recommend something smaller, or different, or nothing, when that is the honest answer
- Execute it, or coordinate the people who will
Kissaten, Gentlecan, EuroDataes, and a number of one-off strategic advisory sessions. I handled all of it myself — sales, discovery, scoping, pricing, delivery, and the awkward conversations at the end of a phase.
Over time I moved the consultancy deliberately away from social media and towards web and digital infrastructure. It scaled better, it was worth more to the client, and it matched the way I want to work.
Femia is not a side project and it is not a failed startup. It is the reason I understand a project from the buyer’s side of the table: what it feels like to approve a budget, to be sold something you did not need, and to live with a deliverable after the invoice is paid.
Being on that side changed how I scope everything.
